Data sources and licences

The public reference data behind our numbers, and the attribution each source requires.

Last Updated: July 28, 2026

Some of what NivoaFlow shows you comes from your own accounts. A smaller part comes from published Canadian reference data: national statistics and government figures that help us put your numbers in context. This page lists that reference data.

None of it is data about you. We do not buy information about our users, and we do not send your financial data to anyone in order to learn something about you. For the service providers that do process your data on our behalf, see Subprocessors.

Survey of Financial Security

Shown in the app

Statistics Canada · Table 11-10-0016, 2023

Median and mean net worth by age group, shown as orientation on the financial health screen. It is context about Canadians in general, never a score or a ranking, and it is never used to say anything about you specifically.

National Occupational Classification (NOC), 2021 Version 1.0

Used internally only

Statistics Canada · Catalogue no. 12-583-X2021001, released November 2022

Recognizing a job title you choose to tell us, so that "RN", "reg nurse" and "registered nurse" are understood as the same work. It helps us place you in a life stage and offer relevant paths. Occupation codes are never shown to you, never used to compare you to anyone, and wage data from this classification is not used at all.

Contribution limits for TFSA, RRSP and FHSA

Shown in the app

Canada Revenue Agency · Published annual limits, 2026 tax year

Registered account room tracking and tax-aware planning. Figures are the published annual limits, not an estimate of your personal room, which depends on your own history with the CRA.

How we use reference data

  • We adapt these sources rather than republish them: we normalize, filter and index them to fit our model, so the attributions above are worded as adaptations.
  • National figures are shown for orientation only. We do not rank you against other Canadians, and we do not use occupation or income data to compare you to anyone.
  • Statistics Canada and the Government of Canada do not endorse NivoaFlow, and nothing on this page should be read as an endorsement.
  • General financial guidelines we reference, such as a three to six month emergency fund, are widely used rules of thumb rather than published data, and are not financial advice.
