NivoaFlow vs EveryDollar

The EveryDollar Alternative for Canadians

EveryDollar says its mobile app and Premium are for the United States. NivoaFlow is built for Canadian accounts and registered-account room.

EveryDollar is a zero-based budgeting app from Ramsey Solutions. For Canadians the first question is availability. EveryDollar's help centre says the mobile app is only available in the United States App Store and Google Play Store, so it cannot be downloaded internationally, including in Canada. It also says it cannot offer or support EveryDollar Premium outside the United States, because those services need a United States debit card. What it does say is that you should still be able to budget, plan expenses and track spending with the free version at EveryDollar.com on a computer. Bank connection is part of Premium, so in Canada transactions are added by hand, and the help centre says the app only supports U.S. dollars. NivoaFlow is built for Canadian money. It works in Canadian dollars, connects Canadian banks on its paid plans, keeps TFSA, RRSP and FHSA room in view on Personal and Household, and explains where you stand in plain words with the working shown. It starts free, with 35 days of full access and no credit card.

EveryDollar lists Premium at $17.99 USD a month or $79.99 USD a year, with a 14-day free trial for new users, and says Premium is not offered outside the United States. NivoaFlow starts free, with Personal at $8.99 CAD a month.

Where EveryDollar is stronger

If these matter most to you, EveryDollar lists more of them than NivoaFlow does.

A method: its page describes it as an easy-to-use zero-based budgeting app. NivoaFlow has budgets and envelopes but is not built around one method.
Unlimited categories: its page says you can customize your budget with unlimited categories.
A free version outside the United States: its help centre says the free web budget on a computer is still available to you.

Where NivoaFlow differs

Works for Canadian accounts

EveryDollar says its mobile app and Premium are for the United States. NivoaFlow connects Canadian banks and keeps your TFSA, RRSP and FHSA room in view on Personal and Household plans.

Canadian dollars and a free plan

NivoaFlow starts on a free plan with no time limit and prices its paid plans in Canadian dollars. EveryDollar says it supports U.S. dollars only.

A plain-language read

NivoaFlow explains where you stand and what each choice could do to your future. It shows the evidence behind what it says, and you confirm what is true.

Canada, as EveryDollar describes it

EveryDollar's help centre article "Using EveryDollar Outside the United States" says: "The EveryDollar Mobile app is only available within the United States App Store and Google Play Store. Unfortunately this means the EveryDollar Mobile app cannot be downloaded internationally (including Canada)." It also says: "Currently, we cannot offer or support EveryDollar Premium for users outside of the United States." We read both on October 14, 2026. Check them again before you decide, because only EveryDollar can say if that changes.

What the free version gives you in Canada

The same article says you should still have the ability to budget, plan expenses and track spending with the free version of EveryDollar at EveryDollar.com on a computer. EveryDollar's bank connection article says bank connection is included only for Premium subscribers and is not available in the free version, which means transactions are entered by hand. A separate article says EveryDollar currently supports U.S. dollars only. If you want to follow a zero-based plan on a computer and do not mind typing in each transaction, that is a real option.

What NivoaFlow includes, and on which plan

NivoaFlow has a free plan with no time limit, which covers manual entry, CSV import, budgets, goals and net worth tracking. Bank sync, brokerage sync, automatic categorization and TFSA, RRSP and FHSA tracking are on Personal, which is $8.99 CAD a month, and on Household. New accounts get 35 days of full access with no credit card.
