Managing Payment Methods

Update your card, view invoices, and manage billing through the Stripe Customer Portal

Last updated May 2, 2026

Opening the Stripe Customer Portal

We use Stripe to handle all payment processing securely. To manage anything billing-related:

  1. Sign in and open Settings
  2. Select Plans
  3. Select Manage subscription

That opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a secure session, where you can update payment methods, view invoices, switch billing frequency, and cancel your subscription.

Updating Your Card

From the Stripe portal:

  1. Select Payment methods
  2. Add a new card or update an existing one
  3. Save your changes

Your new card is used for all future charges. We accept major credit and debit cards.

Viewing Past Invoices

The portal shows your complete invoice history:

  • Date — when the charge occurred
  • Amount — how much was billed
  • Status — paid, pending, or failed
  • Download — get a PDF receipt for your records

This is useful for expense tracking or tax records.

Upcoming Payments

The portal also shows your next payment at a glance:

  • Next billing date
  • Amount to be charged
  • Current plan and frequency (monthly or annual)

Annual vs Monthly Savings

If you are on a monthly plan, consider switching to annual billing:

PlanMonthlyAnnual (founding)Monthly equivalentYou save
Personal$8.99/mo$49/yr$4.08/mo~55%
Household$12.99/mo$69/yr$5.75/mo~56%

Founding annual pricing applies during the founding-member window. After that window closes, regular annual pricing is $69/yr for Personal and $99/yr for Household. Founding members keep their locked-in price as long as the subscription stays active.

You can switch billing frequency from the Stripe portal at any time. See subscription plans and pricing for the full breakdown.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails (for example, an expired card), we send you an email straight away and show a banner inside the app. There is a multi-day grace window to update your card before access is paused — we send up to three reminder emails over seven days. Updating your card from the Stripe portal resolves it immediately and clears the banner.

Security

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never store your full card number on our servers — Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of security in the payments industry. See data security overview for more on our security practices.
