What Nunavut lists for first-time buyers

OpenLoan Closes October 30, 2026

Homeownership Assistance Program

  • $250,000

forgivable loan toward a building material package, over ten years

The Nunavut Housing Corporation (NHC) provides a forgivable loan toward an NHC-approved building material package for a home the applicant builds, along with education, counselling and project support. The 2026 intake is open until October 30th, 2026. The guide says applications are scored with a points system, the number of approved projects depends on available funding, and NHC may limit a year's intake to specific communities. The page does not limit it to first-time buyers, and it is a program to build a home, not to buy one.
